The Morning Show(2019)
The Morning Show, also known as Morning Wars in Australia and Indonesia,[1][2] is an American drama television series starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell, that premiered on Apple TV+ on November 1, 2019.[3][4] The series is inspired by Brian Stelter's 2013 book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV.[2][5] The show examines the characters and culture behind a network broadcast morning news program. After allegations of sexual misconduct, the male coanchor of the program is forced off the show. Aspects of the #MeToo movement are examined from multiple perspectives, as more and more information comes out regarding said misconduct.

Alex Levy anchors The Morning Show (TMS), a popular morning news program broadcast from Manhattan on the UBA network, which has excellent viewership ratings and is perceived to have changed the face of American television.
During the Apple Special Event, a teaser trailer was released with footage from the series as well as footage from other original series set to premiere on Apple TV+.[36] Furthermore, Aniston, Witherspoon, and Carell were at the event to promote the series.[37] On August 12, 2019, Apple released a first look trailer for the series.[38] It was also revealed that the series would be titled Morning Wars in Australia, in order to distinguish the series from the Australian morning talk show of the same name.[1]
Pull back the curtain on early morning TV. Starring Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell, this unapologetically candid drama looks at the modern workplace through the lens of the people who help America wake up.
Apple TV Plus launched a few weeks ago, and its highest profile series was unquestionably The Morning Show. Apple spent a massive amount of money on it and landed a cast that includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell. It's the story of a morning news show that winds up in turmoil after the male anchor is fired following allegations of sexual misconduct. Aniston plays the female anchor left to pick up the pieces with a new partner, and Witherspoon is the local reporter who unexpectedly gets hired by the show after she goes on a rant while she's working at her previous job and the video goes viral.
The show begins with staffers on a morning show finding out via text (conveniently on their iPhones) that one of the co-anchors, Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell), is being fired for sexual misconduct. We find out later in the show that he had a button on his desk to remotely close his door. We also see him in conversation with a director also taken down by the #MeToo movement. That director essentially admits during the conversation to sexual assault of a minor and other misdeeds, a story that sounds all too familiar.
Front and center in the tech giant's jump into the streaming war is "The Morning Show," a drama series starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell about "the free fall of an early morning newscast in the wake of a scandal, and its struggle to survive in an era when news arrives in the palm of your hand."
But the setting of this show is more a comment on the recent scandals surrounding media figures like Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose and Roger Ailes, than a choice to once again reveal how TV works and gets made. The Morning Show is a massively contemporary workplace drama about women in an often hostile industry. A story about how the moral compass established by the #MeToo movement has rocked everything, even the morning broadcast TV show you probably no longer watch.
What happens when the people you trust to tell the truth prove themselves to be dishonest? The Morning Show follows the free fall of an early morning newscast in the wake of a scandal, and its struggle to survive in an era when news arrives in the palm of your hand. The Morning Show stars Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon, Emmy winner Jennifer Aniston and Golden Globe winner Steve Carell in a high-stakes drama that pulls back the curtain on the morning news.
The series will also star Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Billy Crudup, Bel Powley, Karen Pittman, Desean Terry and Mark Duplass. A sizzle reel for the Apple TV+ lineup showed Aniston anchoring the titular morning show and a brunette Witherspoon watching from behind the scenes.
Nevertheless, the grandioso lobby with the marble colums does exist in a historic office building of LA, the city where most of the episodes have been filmed. (See more here: -caledison-from-the-morning-show/)
These cases show that not just the reputation of a beloved and acclaimed figure of power who starred on the morning news is at stake, but the entire reputation of a channel. These cases are also an example of how the power of media can be used to lift someone up or bring that person down, according to need. 041b061a72
